Volunteers are such an important part of Matsuyama’s culture and
success. We welcome all who want to help out, and there are
many possible ways to volunteer at Matsuyama.
check in/out library books for your child’s
teacher
help in the classroom with small groups
be a yard duty at lunch time
help with projects by doing cutting/stapling at
home
help with the classroom booth at Harvest
Festival/Cherry Blossom Festival
come help at Field
Day
chaperone or drive for a field trip
Be sure to fill out the volunteer packet and the beginning of the
school year.
Your child’s teacher might have other possible ways to help -
every class is different - so check with the teacher, and
we’ll see you on campus!
In order to start volunteering, you need to have gone through the
following process and have the following items on file with your
school:
You may pick up a pre-signed packet from the front office at
Matsuyama or you may print the forms online here
PRIOR to going to the Serna Center for
your fingerprinting.
A copy of a recent TB Test or chest x-ray form/card
indicating a negative result with in the past 60 days.
A current and completed volunteer registration packet.
A completed and cleared Volunteer Fingerprinting and
Criminal Background Check form or current fingerprinting on file
with district.

To report your student’s absence, please complete this
webform or call the office at (916) 395-4650.
Read each option thoroughly and select the reason that best
describes your student’s absence. Please note that office staff
may call to verify as necessary.
Allow 1-2 school days for attendance to be processed.
